The total course fees for domestic students are $8,800, comprising a tuition fee of $8,500 and a materials fee of $300. As a domestic student, you may be eligible for fee-free training under the NSW Government Smart and Skilled Program — contact the college to find out more.
Yes, work placement is a compulsory part of the course. All students are required to complete 120 hours of work placement. Before commencing placement, students must provide a Working with Children Check, a Police Clearance Check, complete the NDIS Online Module, and meet fitness and health requirements.
To enrol, you must have completed CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability plus the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set. You must also be 18 years of age or over, complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) pre-assessment test, and hold a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
On completion of the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, students may wish to continue their studies and complete the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services at BCC Institute.
Since July 20, 2020, BCC Institute has been using a mixed delivery mode, delivering sessions face to face and online via the Zoom platform. Face to face classes are kept small with a maximum of 15 students per class. Some training and assessments are delivered online, and students are also required to complete some self-directed learning tasks. The course runs for 52 weeks (40 weeks of classes plus 12 weeks of holidays), with attendance of 2 days per week.
