Common Questions
To enrol, students must already hold a CHC33021, CHC33015, or CHC30408 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) — or the equivalent plus the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set — and must be already working for a disability support provider or able to source a provider for at least 20 hours of work placement. Students must also be over 18, meet the academic and English proficiency requirements, and complete an LLN assessment.
The total tuition fee is $13,500.00. There is also a non-refundable enrolment deposit of $200 (prior to commencement) and a materials fee of $600. Students can pay via a payment plan of 9 instalments of $1,500, or make an optional upfront payment of 50% or more of the total tuition fees prior to the course commencement date.
The course runs for 50 weeks full time, comprising 39 scheduled tuition weeks, 1 week of work placement, and up to 10 weeks of holidays.
Graduates may pursue roles such as Disabilities Services Officer, Disability Team Leader, Disabilities Supervisor, Project Officer, Disability Support Assistant (Schools), or Senior Disability Worker. For further study, students may continue into the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services.
The CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support requires the completion of 10 units in total, including 7 core units and 3 electives, covering areas such as person-centred behaviour support, community participation, legal and ethical compliance, mental health, work health and safety, palliative care, and dementia support.
