The course provides students the necessary skills to make a difference in the lives of those living with a disability. It prepares graduates to work in various roles supporting people with disability to achieve greater independence and quality of life.
With increased demand for disability support workers, the nationally accredited Certificate IV in Disability opens up a variety of career options including Disability Support Worker, Behavioural Support Officer, Community Development Officer, Disabilities Supervisor, Disability Service Officer and more.
The course is delivered with the assistance of Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding for eligible domestic students — contact Stirling Institute of Australia on 1300 790 265 to check eligibility, or see the current fees and charges at sia.edu.au/course-fees. International students pay $11,750 tuition plus $400 in other fees ($12,150 total).
Students complete an industry work placement of at least 120 hours, gaining real work experience in a real working environment. This gives students the opportunity to apply the theory and skills learned during study in a professional workplace. Placement hours must be attended 100%.
