The course runs for 52 weeks with ongoing weekly enrolments commencing on a Monday. Students study 20 hours per week across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Training is delivered through classroom-based learning, practical demonstrations in a simulated salon, individual and group activities, and industry-relevant projects. Assessment methods include written knowledge questions and short answers, practical tasks in a simulated industry environment, projects, assignments and research tasks, presentation/role play/simulation, and portfolio activities. All assessments are conducted in accordance with the principles of assessment (fairness, flexibility, validity, and reliability) and rules of evidence (valid, sufficient, authentic, and current).
AH&B College offers one-to-one support from the trainer/assessor, support with personal issues, access to additional learning resources, reasonable adjustment in assessment, social events, and information about external services.
