Certificate IV in Hospitality

Step up your hospitality career with TAFE SA's Certificate IV in Hospitality, a comprehensive qualification for those wanting a supervisory, multi-skilled or specialist role in a restaurant, hotel, club or cocktail lounge. Recommended for students with some hospitality experience, entry requires completion of a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment (LLND) and basic Office 365 and computing skills. Delivered full time over 12 months at the Regency Park campus through a blend of on-campus and online classes, students complete all 9 core units and choose 12 elective units covering customer service, team leadership, conflict management, budgeting and financial interpretation, bar operations, cocktail and wine service, espresso coffee, and table service of food and beverage. The course includes a compulsory vocational placement of around 150 hours. Concession, subsidised and full-fee rates apply depending on eligibility, and TAFE SA also offers this qualification to international students. Students under 18 cannot take part in alcoholic beverage tastings until they turn 18. Graduates gain a wide range of industry skills, enabling them to work independently and take on supervisory responsibilities such as bar supervisor, team leader, food and beverage supervisor or shift manager across restaurants, hotels, clubs and cocktail lounges.
