The Certificate IV in Information Technology at VIT has a duration of 52 weeks, including course breaks.
Applicants must meet at least one of the following English language requirements: Cert III in EAL or an Academic IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent; satisfactory completion of ELICOS at Upper Intermediate level; completion of an Australian Year 11 equivalent qualification from an English-speaking country such as Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland; completion of any Australian AQF Certificate III or higher qualification; satisfactory completion of at least one semester (50% or more of the semester load) of study in Australia in a tertiary course; or completion of a Placement Test devised and administered by VIT or a nominated accredited agency.
Graduates of the Certificate IV in Information Technology can pursue a wide range of entry-level IT roles, including IT Support Specialist, Network Support Technician, Junior Web Developer, IT Security Assistant, Database Administrator, Junior Software Tester, IT Help Desk Technician, IT Network Operations Technician, and IT Network Administrator, among others.
Completing the Certificate IV in Information Technology provides a strong foundation for students to pursue higher-level qualifications, such as the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology, or other relevant qualifications in IT or related fields.
The fee for the Certificate IV in Information Technology at VIT is $12,000. This fee applies to both domestic and international students studying at the Melbourne, Sydney, or Adelaide campuses.
