Certificate IV in Information Technology

This qualification provides students with the skills and knowledge required to work in a wide range of information technology roles, with a focus on networking and cyber security. You will learn how to install, configure and manage networks, servers and systems, while developing problem-solving and technical support skills used in real workplace environments. Key focus areas include technical troubleshooting, network basics, cybersecurity basics, system setup and customer assistance. Across its 20 units of competency (7 core and 13 elective), students build practical, workplace-ready skills, covering areas such as work collaboratively in the ict industry, identify and resolve client ict problems, identify and evaluate emerging technologies and practices, apply advanced critical thinking to work processes and comply with ip, ethics and privacy policies in ict environments. The course runs over 52 weeks, including 40 study weeks and 12 weeks of holidays, delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting, at the 460 Church St, Parramatta NSW 2150 campus. Graduates are prepared for roles such as IT Support Officer, Help Desk Technician and Technical Support Specialist.
