The course has a duration of 52 weeks, which includes 40 teaching weeks and 12 weeks of holidays. Refer to the Institute's Academic Calendar for specific term dates.
Students are required to have an IELTS Overall score of 6.0 or equivalent English proficiency. Alternatively, English language competence can be demonstrated through evidence such as being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing a foundation course in Australia, or completing the College English Placement Test. Other tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted if results are equivalent to IELTS 6.0. Students who cannot provide such evidence may complete the Versant Placement Test.
Students must complete a total of 20 units, consisting of 12 core units and 8 elective units, to be awarded the ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology. Employment pathways include roles such as Computer Technician, Client Support Officer (ICT), and ICT Support Technician.
