The SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management is designed for experienced cooks ready to progress into kitchen leadership and management roles. Building on skills developed through the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, you'll develop the skills to coordinate kitchen operations, lead teams and apply your cookery expertise in a management environment. This six-month course has a strong focus on kitchen management and leadership, combining theory with practical components to prepare you for the responsibilities of managing a commercial kitchen. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in an excursion to Holmesglen's Eildon campus. On completion, you'll be prepared for kitchen management opportunities in restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés and catering organisations.

Study the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management at Holmesglen's Glen Waverley campus through a blend of online, classroom and practical training in Holmesglen's modern commercial kitchens. You'll build on your cookery experience while developing practical management skills in kitchen leadership, financial management, cost control, sustainability, work health and safety (WH&S), conflict and diversity. You'll also develop knowledge of special dietary requirements to help manage changing nutritional needs. Holmesglen supports your transition into employment with CV writing and interview workshops. The course can support progression into kitchen leadership roles across restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés, aged care and health care facilities, while also building skills relevant to running your own business.
