This course will be delivered over a 100 week period of full time study, including course delivery, assessment, public holidays and break.
For international students, the tuition fee is $17,500, the admission fee is $250, and resources (including commercial cookery tool kit, uniform and course material) cost $1,500, bringing the total course fee to $19,250 (excluding Overseas Student Health Cover). As per the ESOS Act, students can pay the full fees before the start of the course but are not required to pay more than 50 percent up front.
Work Based Training (WBT) is part of the course delivery, aimed at giving students a varied experience in a real live situation under normal commercial pressures. A total of 192 hours will be completed in WBT as part of the unit SITHCCC043 Work effectively as a cook. WBT is guaranteed by the college.
Yes. Students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by providing evidence of required skills and knowledge through work/industry experience and/or completed eligible assessments in an equivalent or higher qualification. Appropriate credit transfer may also be granted against each unit of competency on evidence of successful completion of the same unit in an equivalent or higher nationally endorsed qualification. Students who have previously completed SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and/or SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management will receive credits.
After achieving the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management, candidates may undertake a range of Advanced Diploma level qualifications including SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management within the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package, or other Training Packages.
