To attain the SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, 33 units must be completed: 27 core units and 6 elective units.
The course comprises of 31 weeks, including holidays and term breaks, and is delivered via face to face classroom delivery. Students are also required to complete 240 hours of work based training.
Applicants must provide an IELTS score of 5.5 or a PTE score of 42 or a Certificate III in EAL or its equivalent to meet the English language requirements for this course.
In addition to all the software, equipment and personal protective gear and uniforms (if applicable), students are required to have access to a PC or laptop, reliable internet connection, browser application (e.g. Google Chrome), a pair of headphones, access to Microsoft Office suite including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and access to Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. All students will have access to WIFI at PAX's campus, however access to computers is limited and on a first-in-first-served basis.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in various kitchen settings, such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes, cafeterias and coffee shops, with possible job titles including Chef and Chef de partie. Individuals could also progress to the Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification after achieving the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management.
