The total course fee is AUD $22,500, plus a non-refundable enrolment fee of $250 (to be paid on application) and material fees of $2,500. Non-tuition fees may also apply and can be found in the International Student Handbook. Course fees do not include laptops or software — a laptop meeting minimum specifications costs approximately $450, and Office 365 costs $129 annually.
Yes, work placement is required. Students must complete 48 service periods to meet the requirements of the unit SITHCCC043 Work effectively as a cook. Each service period is 4 hours, meaning students are required to complete 192 hours of work placement in total. Ausford College will assist you to find a work placement, or you may find your own.
You are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of having been educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or through other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL, provided results are confirmed as equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Yes, you can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes and issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
The application process involves five steps: (1) Complete and submit your Application for Enrolment Form with supporting documents; (2) Your application will be assessed and if verified, an interview will be arranged in person, by phone, or via Skype; (3) If successful, you will be issued an Offer Letter and Student Agreement; (4) Review and sign the Offer Letter and Student Agreement and return it to receive an invoice; (5) Once your first payment is received, you will be issued an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) to apply for your student visa with the Department of Home Affairs.
