Certificate IV in Kitchen Management

Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (SIT40521) is delivered by JMDEDU PTY LTD, trading as Wyndham International College (RTO 46144, CRICOS 04222J), with classroom training at its Tottenham campus and practical kitchen sessions at its North Melbourne campus.

This qualification reflects the role of chefs and cooks who have a supervisory or team-leading role in the kitchen. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others, using discretion to solve non-routine problems and manage the responsibilities of a busy commercial kitchen.

Building on the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, the course develops the financial, team and kitchen management skills required to run a busy kitchen efficiently, providing a pathway to work in restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops, or to run a small food business.

Delivered over 24 weeks (inclusive of 4 weeks of holidays), with classroom sessions of 20 hours per week. Entry requires successful completion of the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Graduates may progress into the Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50422).
