The total course fee is AUD $10,800, plus a non-refundable enrolment fee of $300 to be paid on application. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which are to be purchased at the student's own cost. The required textbook is 'Leadership and Management Theory and Practice, 7th Edition' by Kris Cole, priced at approximately $112.95.
This qualification is delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 9 weeks each, and 16 weeks of holidays.
Students are required to attend classes for 2 days or 3 evenings a week (14 hours), as well as complete structured online study outside the classroom for 6 hours per week, which will be monitored. Timetable information will be provided at the orientation.
Students who complete this course may wish to further their study into the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management or a range of Diploma qualifications.
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects incorporating role-plays, case studies and short answer questions. Assessment conditions will ensure a simulated workplace environment. Tasks reflect real-life work situations, must be performed within industry-standard timeframes, utilise authentic workplace documentation, and require students to work as part of a team and use standard workplace equipment such as computers and software.
