Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is designed for developing and emerging leaders and managers working across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. In addition to managing their own performance, students learn to provide leadership, guidance and support to others, while taking on responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of a team. The course builds the skills to apply solutions to both predictable and unpredictable workplace problems, and to analyse and evaluate information drawn from a variety of sources. It is a strong fit for students seeking to move into a team leader or supervisory role, enter a new industry sector, or build a pathway toward higher-level leadership and management qualifications. Delivery is blended, combining 15 hours of face-to-face training with 5 hours of online study via the Moodle learning management system, over 52 weeks (40 weeks of training and assessment across four 10-week terms, plus 12 weeks of holidays). Classes are held at Alpha Institute's Belconnen (ACT) and Sydney CBD (NSW) campuses. Credit or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for students who already hold relevant skills and knowledge, allowing eligible students to complete the qualification in a shorter timeframe.
