Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is a nationally accredited qualification offered by The Business School (TBS) in Campsie, NSW. It is designed for developing and emerging leaders, team leaders and supervisors who already have some exposure to business operations, administration or management and are ready to take on greater responsibility for the output of others. As well as accounting for their own performance, graduates are equipped to provide leadership, guidance and support to a team in a wide range of enterprise and industry contexts. To be awarded the qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 5 core units plus 7 elective units, 12 units in total, covering areas such as leading effective workplace relationships, coordinating business operational plans, leading and facilitating a team, and applying business risk management processes. Domestic students complete the course fully online and self-paced over 48 weeks via TBS's Learning Management System, with a new unit released roughly every 4 weeks and ongoing trainer contact by email. International students instead attend face-to-face classes at TBS's Campsie campus over 52 weeks across 4 terms, including 12 weeks of scheduled holiday breaks. Assessment is via underpinning knowledge questions, case-study/portfolio work and practical tasks, with feedback normally provided within 7 working days and an opportunity to resubmit unsatisfactory work. Students with relevant prior knowledge or experience may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to reduce their study load and course fees. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Administrator, Personal Assistant, Team Leader or Project Coordinator, with a pathway into the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management or BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business.
