About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts. As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams. They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. This course will equip students to build and gain practical skills to effectively work in a range of management and leadership roles.

General Requirements

Students wishing to enrol in this qualification must have successful completion of Australian year 12 or equivalent.
Preferred pathway (Qualification): After achieving Australian high school certificate or Certificate III or higher AQF level of qualification.
Preferred pathway (Work Experience/Employment): Demonstrated vocational experience, employment or workplace experience in the management sector or closely related sector.
Applicants with relevant prior formal studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of the course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'.
English language requirements must be met (refer to English language requirement detailed information on the College website).

To attain the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, students must complete 12 units comprising 5 core and 7 elective units in accordance with the BSB – Business Services Training Package packaging rules. There are no specified entry requirements or pre-requisites for this course.

What pathways are available after completing this qualification?

After completing the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, students can progress to the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management or a range of other Diploma BSB Business Services Training Packages. Students may also choose to continue their studies in higher education.
