The course runs for 52 weeks in total, comprising 38 weeks of delivery, 4 weeks of work placement, and 10 weeks of term break.
Yes, mandatory work placement of 80 hours is required to complete the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health. Students may request AHMI to organise their work placement or find their own. Prior to undertaking placement, students must provide a current and satisfactory police check and a current First Aid Certificate.
International students must achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 with no bands less than 5.5, or an equivalent score in the Pearson Test of English (PTE).
Further training pathways from this qualification may lead to the Diploma of Mental Health, Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs, Diploma of Counselling, or a Bachelor of Community Services.
Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and are recognised nationally under the AQF.
