As part of your training and assessment, you will need to complete at least 12 service periods (shifts). A majority of this will be conducted during your class sessions; however, TAFE NSW also recommends that you seek paid employment to assist you in successfully completing this assessment requirement.
Patisserie classes for students at Ryde are conducted in the specialist Patisserie kitchens at Meadowbank Campus, which is conveniently located next to Meadowbank Train Station.
The course fee for international students is between $22,900 and $24,050 AUD. Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 to $1,000 AUD per course.
This qualification could help you prepare for roles such as Patisserie Business Owner, Patisserie Chef at a café, Patisserie Production Chef, Patissier, and Pastry Chef or Executive Pastry Chef in the hospitality industry or catering business.
Yes, TAFE NSW offers several pathway options. At TAFE NSW Ryde, if you package the Certificate IV in Patisserie (1 year) with the Diploma of Hospitality Management, you will receive 6 months credit towards the Diploma, reducing its duration to 0.5 years (total package duration: 1.5 years). You can also continue to the Bachelor of Business specialising in Hospitality and Hotel Management, with a total package duration of 3.5 years when combined with both the Certificate IV and Diploma.
