Certificate IV in Project Management Practice

The BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice at New Cambridge College Sydney (NCCS) reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer. Individuals in these roles work autonomously, and might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations, and they may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities. The qualification is made up of 9 units of competency (3 core units and 6 electives) covering project scope, time and quality management techniques, together with cost, human resources and risk management approaches, workplace communication and leadership, making presentations, and implementing and monitoring WHS policies, procedures and programs. NCCS delivers the course using a Blended Learning approach over 20 hours per week for 52 weeks, structured as 6 terms of study of 6 weeks each with up to 16 weeks of holiday. Students are provided with assessment booklets, a Student Guide and resources, PowerPoint slides, computers, MS Office and the units of competency. Assessment is structured throughout the course and may include written questioning and exercises, oral questioning, projects, case study analysis, written reports, demonstration, presentation, role play and portfolio work. Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer are available on application. Graduates can progress to the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management.
