Fees vary depending on your eligibility. Eligible students may access Fee-Free TAFE at $0. Concession fees range from $1,860–$2,710, subsidised fees from $2,700–$3,550, and full fees from $5,500–$6,350. TAFE at School students pay $6,160, and international students pay $7,700.
Yes, the course is available via online virtual classroom, where classes are delivered in real time via scheduled Zoom sessions. Full-time online students attend 3 x 5 hour Zoom sessions plus approximately 16 hours of study per week, while part-time online students attend up to 2 x 6 hour Zoom sessions plus up to approximately 10 hours of study per week.
After completing the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting, you can continue studying at TAFE Queensland to complete the Diploma of Building Design. TAFE Queensland's partnerships with Australia's top universities also means you may be credited for your time with TAFE if you decide to upgrade your qualification at university. Alternatively, you can enter the workforce as an entry-level drafter supporting building designers and architects.
The course is offered on campus at South Bank (Greater Brisbane), Coomera (Gold Coast), and Nambour (Sunshine Coast). On-campus study is delivered primarily face to face with a teacher, with approximately 80% on campus and 20% online.
