Graduates may pursue roles such as digital content producer, videographer, editor, camera operator, assistant director, production assistant, radio/podcast presenter, audio editor, sound recordist, social media content creator, digital producer, and multimedia writer, among others including radio broadcaster, animator, digital artist, foley artist, lighting supervisor, and make-up artist.
Local students have the course delivered through online lectures and live online sessions, while international students have it delivered through face-to-face lectures and live online sessions.
This program is a full-time course completed over a period of 2 years full-time. The AQF Volume of Learning for CUA41225 Certificate IV in Screen and Media is 1200 to 2400 hours, encompassing classroom-based instruction, online learning, practical production workshops, project development and assessment, and industry or workplace-based practice.
Graduates of CUA41225 Certificate IV in Screen and Media may progress to higher-level qualifications such as CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media, CUA60620 Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media, or relevant bachelor's degrees in film, television, digital media or communication. The qualification also provides a foundation for entry-level roles in film, television, online content creation and digital media production.
The total number of units is 13, consisting of 4 core units plus 9 elective units, of which at least 7 must be from Groups A, B, C and/or D, and up to 2 may be from Groups A, B, C, D, E, and/or F, or any other currently endorsed Certificate III or above training package qualification or accredited course. Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen, and contribute to a valid industry-supported vocational outcome.
