The total course duration is 78 weeks (including holiday breaks), with a volume of learning of 1,440 hours. The total course fee is $42,500, comprising a tuition fee of $35,000 AUD and a non-tuition fee of $7,500 AUD.
Theory classes are delivered face to face at Level 5, 123 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000. Practical learning takes place at TEDI's Technical Electronics Centre located at 17 David St, Brunswick, Victoria 3056, for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
International students require a minimum IELTS (General) score of 6.0 for direct entry, or 5.5 combined with at least 10 weeks of ELICOS, or 5.0 combined with at least 20 weeks of ELICOS. Equivalent scores from other accepted tests such as PTE Academic (50), Cambridge English Advanced (169), or an Oxford Placement Test score of 61 or higher are also accepted. Test results older than two years are not acceptable.
Students are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with Windows 7 or higher for self-study, an active email address, and MS Office applications including Microsoft Word. For practical learning, TEDI will provide access to equipment including soldering irons, soldering wire, multimeters, cable strippers, screwdriver kits, and tongs at the practical lab.
Successful completion of the Certificate IV in Video and Audio Systems may enable students to apply for the UEE50520 Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering. Indicative job roles include Video and Audio Electrician and Technicians and Trades Workers, though TEDI does not claim any employment outcome or job guarantee associated with its courses.
