Yes. The Diploma in Aviation provides a pathway into the Bachelor of Aviation course, where you can graduate with a bachelor level program with an additional two years of study using credits for the units you've already completed.
This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 5 Diploma Award.
For domestic students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $8,950 (Commonwealth supported). For international students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $42,950. Note that at ECU, you pay for the individual units you enrol in, not an overall course fee, so the total cost may vary.
Graduates can launch their careers in the industry with entry-level roles such as front counter staff and ground handling. Possible future job titles include Flight Planner, Aviation Operations Controller, Load Controller, Aviation Safety Regulator, Aviation Operations Officer, Air Traffic Controller, Air Force Officer, and Pilot.
The course covers eight units across two semesters: Semester 1 includes Introduction to Physics (SCP1132), Introduction to Engineering (ENS1154), Fundamentals of Flight (SCA1125), and Aviation Meteorology (SCA1229). Semester 2 includes Human Factors in Aviation (SCA1117), Foundations of Mathematics (MAT1108), Aviation Operations and Practice (SCA1300), and Air Navigation (SCA2120).
