Diploma in Business

The Diploma in Business is an important stepping-stone to achieve your career and study goals. Students who undertake this diploma can gain credit for up to the first year of study and articulate into the second year of many of the bachelor's degrees in business at ACU, or exit with the Diploma in Business as a standalone qualification. Not only does the diploma have lower entry requirements than ACU's bachelor's degrees, it also helps you develop the skills needed to succeed in more advanced tertiary study, and it provides domestic students with a Commonwealth supported place (CSP-funded). ACU supports you from start to finish, whether you have just finished Year 12 or finished years ago, with smaller class sizes, tailored support as you transition to university study, and a range of student services.

To complete the Diploma in Business, a student must complete 80 credit points of specified units, taken over one year full-time or the equivalent part-time. The eight units cover financial literacy, managing people and organisations, marketing essentials, academic literacy, economics, organisational behaviour, information technology in action, and product marketing and innovation. It is an AQF Level 5 qualification. Credit for the eight units (80 credit points) completed in the diploma is applied to the first year of the corresponding bachelor degree, and the diploma may also provide a pathway into a range of double degrees. Student Veterans must enrol in the professional terms only, and students completing the diploma at the Ballarat campus would transfer to their business bachelor program at the Melbourne campus.
