Common Questions
The Diploma in Human Services takes up to 52 weeks to complete. By standard study mode (2 trimesters per academic year), it is 1 year full time equivalent, delivered over two trimesters.
WIL placements are a compulsory component of the course. Students must complete PRAC 100: Professional Practice Placement Introductory, which involves up to 120 hours at 16 hours per week. Placements are offered in trimester 2 and must be completed within one teaching period. Students must also undergo screening checks for child-related employment, disability services employment, aged care sector employment, vulnerable person employment and general employment probity prior to commencing placement.
Domestic students pay a tuition fee of $23,280 plus an Amenities Fee of $370. International students pay a tuition fee of $27,936 plus a Student Services Fee of $370. Scholarships are also available — students are encouraged to enquire.
The Diploma in Human Services is a pathway into the Associate Degree in Human Services and the Bachelor of Human Services. On completion of this course, you will receive a 12 month credit to the EQUALS Bachelor of Human Services course.
