Manage work health and safety processes
Activity / Learning Guide including practical assessments.
Develop a chemical use strategy
Covers chemical use and risk assessment strategy, pest identification, chemical management procedures, and workplace training.
Develop workplace policy and procedures for environment and sustainability
Includes developing a sustainability policy, oral/recorded presentation, and peer review.
Develop climate risk management strategies
Covers reviewing climate and enterprise data, developing climate risk management strategies, interpreting climate data, and practical temperature measurement.
Manage agricultural crop production
Covers crop production, harvest and yield management, and creating a crop production schedule.
Monitor and manage soils for production
Covers soil understanding, practical soil testing, soil ameliorants, and soil management planning.
Develop and review a business plan
Covers business plan proposal, development, and review.
Plan, implement and review a quality assurance program
Covers quality assurance planning, implementation strategies, Freshcare standards, and internal audit reporting.
Apply plant biology to agronomic practice
Covers plant biology application, plant functions and growth analysis, weekly practical activities, and online examination.

Common Questions
To enrol in the Diploma of Agriculture, applicants must be aged 16 or above, complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy Assessment assessed by the Language Studies Department, and meet the academic requirement of completing an equivalent to Certificate IV or higher, Year 12 equivalent, or be currently employed in the Agriculture Industry with at least 36 months of equivalent employment.
For national students, the course is delivered via classroom face-to-face and online through Moodle, as well as distance. For international students, delivery is classroom face-to-face only, at 20 hours per week.
The Diploma of Agriculture has a course duration of 53 weeks.
Completion of ten (10) selected units is required, including units such as AHCWHS503 Manage work health and safety processes, AHCCHM501 Develop a chemical use strategy, AHCSOL505 Monitor and manage soils for production, and AHCWAT503 Manage water systems, among others.
