Common Questions
The course fee for international students ranges from $36,400 to $37,492 AUD. Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials range from $300 to $1,000 AUD per course.
In addition to practical skills, you will learn industry-specific computer skills and digital design using the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as other digital design tools relevant to the fashion industry.
You will need to complete a total of 25 units, consisting of 9 core units and 16 elective units. The elective units must include 1 unit from Group A, at least 8 units from Groups B or C, and 7 additional units from Groups B, C, D or any endorsed Training Package or accredited course. For the Design and Product Development specialisation, at least 5 Group B electives must be selected.
This qualification could help you prepare for roles such as Fashion Designer, Clothing Patternmaker, Graphic Designer for Fashion, Assistant Production Merchandiser, and Visual Merchandiser.
Yes, TAFE NSW offers several pathway options including a TAFE NSW degree pathway such as the Bachelor of Fashion Design, TAFE NSW–university partnership pathways with guaranteed entry and credit transfer to eligible students at a number of Australian universities, and a vocational study pathway where you can enrol in a range of TAFE NSW courses to further develop your skills.
