Diploma of Applied Business (Business Management)

The Diploma of Applied Business (Business Management) is the one-year entry point of UNSW College's Applied Business Management degree, co-designed and taught by industry specialists including guest facilitators from organisations such as Freedom Furniture and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. It is built on work-integrated learning from day one, with industry-designed projects each term instead of exams. Core courses cover applied management fundamentals, accounting in practice, professional communication in business, reflective leadership in action, creating value through marketing, data insights for business decision-making, applied business law (risk and compliance), and economics for business decisions. You'll build leadership capability, data-informed decision-making skills and strategic thinking for modern business, with exposure to workplace systems and software such as MYOB, Xero, Excel and Power BI. Classes are delivered in a blended format at the Kensington campus - two weeknight classes per week plus online self-paced learning. On successful completion, graduates can exit with this nationally recognised Diploma or progress directly into Year 2 of the Associate Degree of Applied Business (Business Management), backed by UNSW.
