The program is delivered across two locations: classroom sessions are held at Aventia Institute, Level 3, 57 Sanders Street, Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD 4122, and practical automotive workshop sessions are conducted at Junction Automotive, 89 Granite St, Geebung, QLD 4034.
The course runs for 52 weeks in total, which includes 40 teaching weeks and 12 weeks of holidays. Specific term dates can be found in the Institute's Academic Calendar.
Students are generally required to have an IELTS Overall score of 6.0 or equivalent. Lower scores may be accepted if packaged with ELICOS: an Overall band score of 5.5 if packaged with at least 10 weeks' ELICOS, or 5.0 if packaged with at least 20 weeks' ELICOS. Other English tests such as PTE and TOEFL are also accepted if equivalent to IELTS 6.0, and students who cannot provide such evidence may complete the Versant Placement Test.
Students must complete a total of 12 units, comprising six core units and six elective units covering areas such as managing budgets, customer issues, workplace safety, people performance, and business improvement in an automotive context.
Yes, students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience through credit transfer or recognition of prior learning. The granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.
