Common Questions
To enrol, students must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, completed a Determining Suitability Assessment, be 18 years of age or above, and have completed an automotive Certificate IV qualification (such as AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. International students must also meet a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
The tuition fees for the course are $10,000.00. This includes a $200 Application Fee, $800 Materials Fee, and $9,000 in tuition fees.
The course is delivered through classroom-based training sessions to develop knowledge and theoretical understandings, as well as practical sessions in the automotive workshop. Assessment includes the gathering of evidence to demonstrate the student's competence, using written assessment and direct observation of practical demonstration.
The course is available at three campuses: Melbourne Campus at 487-489 King Street, West Melbourne VIC 3003; Sydney Campus at Level 2, 11-13 Aird Street, Parramatta NSW 2150; and VIC Campus at 32B Williamson Rd Maribyrnong VIC 3032.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a 'Testamur' and a 'Record of Results' detailing all Units of Competency completed. Students who partially complete the course will receive a 'Statement of Attainment' for units achieved. After completing the AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology, candidates may choose to undertake further studies such as the AUR50116 Diploma of Automotive Management.
