The tuition fee is AU$5,700 for both international and domestic students. Additional fees include a Resource fee of AU$500, a Material fee of AU$100, and a non-refundable Enrolment Fee of AU$250 payable at the time of enrolment. International students are also required to hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their student visa.
The course runs for 33 weeks, including 27 weeks of study and 6 weeks of holidays. Duration may vary if the student has applied for advanced standing and been granted credit transfer (CT). Classes are scheduled for 2½ days per week, with full-time study requiring a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours each week.
Applicants must have completed AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling. International students must also demonstrate English language proficiency, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent scores in other accepted tests. Students must also possess the physical capability to perform manual handling tasks and complete a pre-enrolment LLND assessment.
Graduates of the Diploma of Automotive Technology may pursue roles such as Automotive Electrical Workshop Manager, Automotive Electrical Service Manager, Automotive Electrical Workshop Technical, Automotive Electrical Service Advisor, and Automotive Master Technician. Students may also go on to study a relevant Advanced Diploma qualification.
