Common Questions
The Diploma of Automotive Technology is delivered over 26 weeks in total (including holidays), with 20 contact weeks. Classes are scheduled across 2 academic terms of 10 weeks each, with a 2-week break between and at the end of the terms, at 20 hours per week including workshop practice.
The fees for the Diploma of Automotive Technology are: Application Fee $250 AUD (non-refundable), Material Fee $800 AUD (non-refundable), and Tuition Fee $4,750 AUD.
Those undertaking the Diploma of Automotive Technology must have completed Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. International students must also have completed a Year 12 certificate or equivalent and meet the English language requirements of IELTS 6.0 or higher (or equivalent).
The course is delivered at IOMT's main campus located at Suite 29, 4 Cardinia Rd, Officer VIC 3809, Australia, which is approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD by train and 4 minutes walking from the Metro Station. A second campus is also available at Tenancy 2, L-1 154-160 Nicholson Street, Footscray 3011.
Further training pathways from this qualification may lead to a relevant Advanced Diploma qualification. Students may also benefit from the skills gained to work in the automotive service and repair industry at the forefront of the implementation of new technologies.
