Common Questions
Entry into this qualification is limited to students who have previously completed AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or equivalent. Additionally, international students must be at least 18 years of age, hold a Year 12 or equivalent qualification (including Year 10 Maths pass or equivalent) or a Certificate III or above, and have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 or equivalent taken within the last 12 months.
The qualification is delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment and 16 weeks of holidays.
Trinity Institute provides training rooms and fully functioning automotive workshops with light vehicles, tools and manufacturer specifications required for all units, as well as personal protective and safety equipment such as eye protection, hearing protection and gloves. Students are also required to have a laptop installed with Microsoft Office or similar, text books, safety work boots, overalls, and other personal protective equipment and tools as listed on the resources list prior to enrolment.
Students who complete this course may be able to seek employment as an Automotive Master Technician, Workshop/Service Manager, or Automotive Technical Advisor in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. Licensing requirements may apply.
After achieving AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology, students may choose to undertake relevant higher level automotive qualifications. Students are also provided with advice on employment and training options throughout the delivery of the program.
