Common Questions
The course runs for 10 months and is structured into 10 Units of Study, each lasting 4 weeks. Students complete 170 hours of flying time and 199 hours of theory over the duration of the course.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age at the start of the course, hold a current Class 1 Australian Medical, pass the Pilot Aptitude Screening Process, hold an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC), and supply a Unique Student Identification (USI) number. Academic requirements include an Australian Year 12 Certificate, an IB Diploma, an AQF Certificate IV or above, or a successful LLN assessment. International students must also achieve an IELTS overall score of 6.5 or above with no sub-score less than 6.0.
The Pilot Aptitude Screening Process comprises an interview and a computer-based assessment. The computer-based assessment has three parts, each assessing a core area: skills and aptitudes, attitude and behaviour, and knowledge and test. Applicants are then interviewed by a Basair team member. The assessment takes approximately four hours to complete and is complimentary for applicants. To be booked in, applicants must return a signed conditional letter of offer.
The tuition fee of $92,394 includes flight training (dual and solo), aircraft hire, simulator training, fuel, pre-flight briefings, post-flight de-briefings, and theory courses.
Failure to meet the progression benchmarks — such as completing solo checks, passing flight tests, or passing CASA exams within the specified number of attempts and timeframes — will result in termination of enrolment. However, students may appeal to the Chief Pilot, who has discretion to allow continuation in cases of extenuating circumstances supported by evidence.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
