Face to face training is located at White Star Aviation in Ballina or Armidale, New South Wales. Theory components are completed in person. Practical training including dual training, solo training, simulator training can be undertaken once all theory components are successfully completed.
Full-time (on campus – Monday to Friday) · A minimum of 20 hours per week face to face training is required.

The total tuition fee for the course is $124,310.00 AUD. A VET Student Loan (VSL) is available for eligible students, with a loan cap of $96,467.00 (gap fee applicable). The fee is structured across four study units across the 12-month program.
The tuition fee includes: tuition (theory and practical, including aeronautical experience up to 203.5 hours), CASA English Language Proficiency (ELP) Test (initial), textbooks (initial issue), CASA Theory Examinations (initial), and CASA Flight Test (initial) for both the Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL-A) and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL-A). Costs NOT included are: Aviation Class 1 Medical (estimated up to $500 AUD), Aviation Security ID Card (ASIC) – estimated $300 AUD, uniforms including closed-in shoes – estimated $300 AUD, personal headset and flight equipment – estimated up to $3,000, CASA Theory Examination or Flight Test resits (prices vary), and a VSL enrolment fee of $250 AUD payable to the RTO.
All students are required to have a valid CASA Flight Crew Class I Medical Certificate from course commencement to course graduation date. The examination must be conducted by a CASA Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and a CASA Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist (DAO) or Credentialed Optometrists (CO). The certificate, once issued, is valid for one year. The cost of a routine initial examination is approximately $800.00 AUD, and a renewal examination is approximately $300.00 AUD. These fees are payable directly by the student to the relevant people and/or organisation.
This course is delivered in partnership with White Star Aviation (NSW) at two campuses: White Star Aviation Ballina (210 Southern Cross Drive, Ballina Airport, NSW 2478) and White Star Aviation Armidale (11 Peter Moley Drive, Armidale Airport NSW 2350). Flight lessons/briefings may also be conducted at various aerodromes that may require travel.
