The course is a 22-week, full-time course running 4–5 days per week.
To enrol you must hold a valid CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (with Proficiency Check, Flight Review or recent training within the past 2 years), an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC), a Class 1 Medical from a Designated Authorised Medical Examiner (DAME), Aviation English Language Proficiency at minimum ICAO level 4, Year 12 or equivalent, and completion of a Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy Assessment (minimum ACSF exit level 3). A Pre-Enrolment Skill and Knowledge Assessment & Interview is also required, including a written knowledge test and a flight in a PA28 Warrior from the right hand seat within the YMMB training area.
Upon completing the AVI50419 Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor), you can seek employment as a Grade 3 Flight Instructor with a Training and AOC Holder.
The course is priced in the range of $38,299.00 through $38,877.00 depending on the intake chosen. VET Student Loans may be available to eligible students who meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements and can provide evidence of Australian Citizenship, Permanent Humanitarian Visa, or eligible New Zealand SCV holder status.
The AVI50419 Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor) course utilises a blended delivery of training including one on one training in the aircraft, Classroom Theory, Individual Briefings, Supervised Study and Practice Exams. Training takes place in RVAC training rooms with a qualified Trainer monitoring your progress, and the course is completed via a simulated work environment. Assessments are conducted by CASA approved Testing Officers.
