Common Questions
The indicative course fee is $36,000 for international students (subject to change, with further clarification available upon enquiry). Flexible payment solutions are also available through ZeeFi Vocational Loan for students deterred by lack of funding and upfront costs.
Students train in the Diamond DA42-VI, a multi-engine aeroplane known for its performance, stability, handling characteristics and ease of operation. The DA42-VI has an excellent reputation for safety, especially when flying in inclement weather, over inhospitable terrain, over water or at night, making the transition from Single-Engine flying to Twin Engine flying smoother and more manageable.
The diploma package includes 20.5 hours of dual flying in the Diamond DA42-VI with an instructor, 15 hours of dual simulator training, and 100+ hours of face-to-face teaching. The package also includes textbooks, uniforms and learning materials, as well as internal theoretical exams and flight tests required by CASA.
Upon completing the course, graduates receive an Australian Nationally Recognised Qualification – AVI50519 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) – and will meet the requirements by CASA under CASR Part 61 to be a qualified Multi-Engine Instrument Rated Pilot. The CASA flight crew qualifications obtained include an Instrument Rating and a Multi-Engine Aeroplane Class Rating.
Flylink Aviation College requires all students to have a valid CASA Flight Crew Class I Medical Certificate from course commencement to course graduation date. The examination must be conducted by a CASA Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and a CASA Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist (DAO) or Credentialed Optometrists (CO). The certificate is valid for one year once issued. The cost of an initial examination is approximately $800 AUD and a renewal examination is approximately $300 AUD, payable directly by the student to the relevant organisation.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
