Common Questions
The course fee for international students ranges from $22,425 to $25,789 AUD. Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials range from $300 to $1,000 AUD per course.
Through a mix of theory and practical coursework, you will learn to perform a range of massage techniques including aromatherapy, reflexology and hot stone therapy; perform facial techniques including exfoliation and massage; perform lash and brow treatments including lash lifts; consult with clients and provide beauty, skincare and cosmetic product advice and treatment recommendations; conduct skin analysis; provide nail treatments including manicures and pedicures; and create and apply make-up designs.
29 units must be completed in total, comprising 20 core units and 9 elective units. The elective units must include 1 unit from Group A (Infection control) and all units from any one of Group B (Electrolysis/Diathermy), Group C (Relaxation Massage), or Group D (Spa Treatments), with remaining units selected from the list provided or elsewhere in the SHB Training Package or any other current training package or accredited course.
This qualification could help you prepare for roles such as Beauty Therapist, Product Specialist or Sales Advisor, Business Salon Owner/Operator, Franchise Salon Owner/Operator, and Spa or Resort Therapist.
TAFE NSW provides a range of support services including the TAFE NSW Disability Support Service, TAFE NSW Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) support, TAFE NSW Careers, Counselling and Pathways Service, Studiosity (online access to a tutor), and LinkedIn Learning (an online resource that offers innovative courses and tutorials to improve personal and professional skills). Students also learn in industry-standard facilities, fully equipped with salon-quality fittings and professional products.
