About This Course

The CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) develops the technical, practical and management skills needed to take on greater responsibility in Australia's building and construction industry. You'll build skills in construction project management, building codes and standards, contracts, cost estimation, risk management and site operations, while developing the leadership and problem-solving skills to coordinate building projects and manage teams and subcontractors. You'll also explore sustainable construction, emerging building technologies and regulatory requirements, building the knowledge to contribute to residential and commercial building projects.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Domestic Students:

Must be at least 18 years old, and have completed at least Year 11.
Interested in working in the building and construction industry, with adequate literacy and numeracy skills (minimum BKSB Exit Level 3 in English and Maths).
Applicants should understand that the course may lead to jobs involving outdoor work, working at heights or underground, and may require physical labour.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.

International Students:

Good passes at Year 12 or the overseas equivalent.
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Students must be at least 18 at the commencement of the course. Students should have learning skills to critically evaluate information, communication skills to present technical and compliance information, and reading skills to interpret complex information in the National Construction Code, standards, acts and regulations.
