Requirements

Students must be above 18 years of age while filling up the application form.
A Pre-Training Review (PTR) will be conducted prior to enrolment to ensure training and assessment meet the individual needs of the student.
International students require a minimum IELTS test score of 6.0 or equivalent for direct entry into the VET course.
Alternatively, an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent with an ELICOS course (up to 10 weeks) to be taken before the main VET course.
Alternatively, an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent with an ELICOS course (up to 20 weeks) to be taken before the main VET course.
Alternatively, an Oxford Placement test with a score of 61 or higher is accepted. Results older than two years are not acceptable.
Applicants should have successfully completed Year 12 / Senior Secondary School studies in their home country equivalent to Australian Senior Secondary School Examination (Year 12).
Mature Age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements if they have relevant work experience within the chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet the course requirements. A minimum of 2 years' experience would normally be expected.
All prospective students are required to undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment prior to enrolment. Students must achieve ACSF performance Level 4.
All students must have basic computer skills.
Students must have access to a laptop or computer with Windows 7 operating system or higher, an active email address, and be contactable by phone and mail.
Students must have access to MS Office applications such as Microsoft Word and an email platform.
Students are required to have a PPE kit for practical training (can be purchased from the institute or external suppliers).
Students must be able to handle physically demanding work including manual handling such as heavy lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

What are the total fees for the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) at IIT?

The total course fees are AU$30,500, which includes tuition fees of AU$25,000 and non-tuition fees of AU$5,500.

Students are required to have a PPE kit for practical training, which includes safety shoes (steel toe), protective glasses, a safety vest (neon/glowing), protective gloves, earmuffs, a working uniform mask, and a hard hat. This kit can be purchased from the institute or from any suppliers outside prior to undertaking practical training.
