Common Questions
This qualification covers both residential and commercial construction. Residential construction is limited to National Construction Code Class 1 and 10 buildings to a maximum of 3 storeys, while commercial construction is limited to National Construction Code Class 2 to 9 buildings, Type C and B construction.
The course runs for 59 weeks in total, comprising 53 training weeks plus 6 weeks of scheduled breaks.
The course is delivered at two campuses: Level 11, 55 Swanston Street, Melbourne CBD, Victoria 3000, and Level 3, 50 Grenfell St, Adelaide SA 5000. The delivery mode is face to face and independent research.
Yes. ICM can grant Course Credit for units of competency already completed with another RTO or authorised issuing organisation, and there is no charge to apply. Additionally, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for skills and knowledge gained through work and life experience or unrecognised training. RPL applications should ideally be submitted at the time of enrolment, but may be submitted up to 2 weeks into the course. Both credits and RPL may reduce your course duration as an international student.
Applicants must satisfy ONE of the following minimum scores: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 64 (taken on or before 25 July 2023), Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 169, or PTE Academic 50. Lower scores may be accepted if the applicant completes 10 or 20 weeks of ELICOS/Foundation study prior to commencing the course.
