Common Questions
The total course fee is $30,500, which comprises a Tuition Fee of AU$25,000 and a Non-Tuition Fee of AU$5,500. Additionally, students who purchase the practical training kit from the institute will pay a separate fee of $400.
The total course duration is 56 weeks, including holiday breaks, with a volume of learning of 1,230 hours. Delivery is face to face theory learning on campus and practical learning at TEDI's facilities for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
International students require a minimum IELTS (General) test score of 6.0 for direct entry, or an IELTS score of 5.5 combined with at least 10 weeks of ELICOS, or an IELTS score of 5.0 combined with at least 20 weeks of ELICOS. Results older than two years are not acceptable. An Oxford Placement Test score of 61 or higher is also accepted. Equivalent scores for other approved tests such as PTE Academic (50), Cambridge English Advanced (169), and TOEFL iBT are also accepted.
Theory classes are delivered at Level 5, 123 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, and practical training takes place at 17 David St, Brunswick, Victoria 3056. Students are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with Windows 7 or higher, MS Office applications, an active email address, and a practical training kit (available from the institute for $400 or from an outside supplier). TEDI will provide access to computers with required resources including internet access during classroom hours.
Successful completion of the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) may enable students to apply for the CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) at other institutions. In terms of employment, units in this qualification reflect the knowledge and skills of individuals with significant experience in roles such as Builder, General Foreperson, and Building Inspector, although TEDI does not claim any employment outcome or job guarantee associated with its courses.
