Common Questions
Assessments for this course may include written questions, projects, presentations, reports, role plays/observations, and portfolios/journals. At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.
To undertake any construction work in Australia, individuals must complete General Construction Induction Training, in accordance with the Model Code of Practice for Construction Work. This requirement is met upon completion of the unit CPCCWHS1001 โ Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
Students are expected to attend 20 hours a week in the classroom and complete 4 hours of structured self-study. In addition, you will also need to complete approximately 5 hours of additional, unsupervised study per week including general reading and research for assessments.
You can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes and issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
Job roles may include Building Manager, Construction Supervisor, Project Supervisor (Building and Construction), Construction Project Manager (within a limited scope), and Estimator (Building Projects). Graduates may also pursue advanced qualifications in construction management, building design, project management, or undertake studies that support formal builder licensing requirements.
