The course is delivered face to face at two campuses: 147 Islington St, Collingwood, VIC 3066 and 103-105 Evans St, Brunswick, VIC 3056.
The total duration for this qualification is 72 weeks, including 12 weeks of holidays, with students studying a minimum of 20 hours per week face to face.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, have completed Year 12 (Australia) or an overseas equivalent, achieve IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, meet Student Visa requirements (for international students), successfully complete an LLN assessment, and have completed unit CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry prior to enrolling.
Students will need a PC, laptop, or tablet; speakers/headphones and a microphone; a web camera; Microsoft Office; and a PDF Reader. Additionally, students must have sufficient physical fitness to move around construction sites, including climbing, kneeling, and navigating uneven terrain, and must wear their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety boots and protective clothing when entering a building and construction site.
Graduates of the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) may pursue occupational titles including Builder, General Foreperson, and Building Inspector, working on residential construction (Class 1 and 10 buildings up to 3 storeys) and commercial construction (Class 2 to 9 buildings, Type C and B construction).
