Yes, eligible students won't be required to pay tuition fees under the Free TAFE scheme, as this course aligns with skills and jobs that are in high demand from Victorian employers. For 2026, the Skills First subsidised tuition fee is $15,390 (plus SSAF up to $261), and the full fee (not subsidised) is $35,910. For 2025, the Skills First subsidised fee is $14,620.50 (plus SSAF up to $256), and the full fee is $35,910.
Once you have completed the Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying, you will be guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Architectural Design (96 credit points), Bachelor of Building Surveying (96 credit points), and Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) (96 credit points) at Victoria University.
Upon completing the Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (CPC60121), you will be a qualified Building Surveyor (Level 2) and can join the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS), the national professional organisation for building surveying.
To be awarded the CPC60121 Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying, 22 units must be completed comprising 19 core units and 3 elective units. Up to 3 elective units may be selected from the listed elective units, and up to 2 units may be selected from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level.
Yes. If you've completed units for this qualification at another institution, you can apply for a credit transfer with formal evidence to VU at no cost. You can also have relevant work, study, or informal learning recognised through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), though an administrative fee applies. You can apply for credit transfer or RPL through the course application portal prior to enrolment.
