The Diploma of Business is a 1-year undergraduate pathway award into the Sheridan Bachelor of Business. There are also credit pathways from the DipBus into the undergraduate programs at Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Alphacrucis University College and Christian Heritage College.
A total of 8 units must be taken to complete the Sheridan Diploma of Business course. Each unit is worth 3 credit points for a total of 24 credit points. There are no electives; students must complete all listed units to meet the graduation requirements.
A single Diploma of Business unit represents 150 hours of study over a semester, including class contact hours and private study. The 150 hours typically consists of seminars for 36 hours (3 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks) and private study for 114 hours (7 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks plus 10 hours per week over 3 non-teaching weeks). Full-time students take 4 units per semester, requiring 12 contact hours per week.
Students may enter the Diploma of Business at the beginning of any semester, with intakes in February and July. The course is a 12-month course for full-time students, with units delivered in 15-week semesters. Full-time students will be able to complete the course in 2 semesters, or longer if taken part-time.
