Diploma of Business

The Diploma of Business (BSB50120) is a nationally recognised VET qualification offered by The Canberra Training School Pty. Ltd., trading as Canberra Business and Technology College (CBTC). It reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles who carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field, often holding frontline management accountabilities while developing skills across a wide range of business functions.

The course suits career changers, those seeking employment in a business services role, and employed professionals wanting a formal qualification or recognition of existing skills. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Executive Officer, Program Consultant, Program Coordinator, Project Coordinator and Office Manager.

Delivered over 52 weeks in a blended mode combining scheduled face-to-face classes with online learning activities, the course requires a recommended study commitment of 35-45 hours per week and is assessed through written assessments, projects, case studies and role plays. It comprises 12 units of competency (5 core and 7 elective), with electives selected in consultation with industry to ensure strong vocational outcomes. Classes are delivered from CBTC's Canberra and Sydney campuses.
