The Diploma of Business has a duration of 52 weeks, structured as two semesters of 26 weeks each. Each semester consists of two terms of study at 10 weeks each, plus a three-week break at the end of each term (totalling 12 weeks of breaks).
To successfully complete the Diploma of Business, students must complete twelve (12) elective units including: BSBMKG552 Design and develop marketing communication plans, BSBXCM501 Lead communication in the workplace, BSBPMG430 Undertake project work, BSBFIN501 Manage budgets and financial plans, BSBOPS502 Manage business operational plans, BSBCRT511 Develop critical thinking in others, BSBOPS501 Manage business resources, BSBSUS511 Develop workplace policies and procedures for sustainability, BSBTWK503 Manage meetings, BSBPEF501 Manage personal and professional development, BSBOPS505 Manage organisational customer service, and BSBHRM525 Manage recruitment and onboarding.
International students must exhibit a strong command of the English language and undertake one of the accepted English language tests, meeting minimum scores such as: IELTS 5.5 overall with no band less than 5.0, TOEFL iBT 51-66, PTE 45 or higher, CAE 162 or higher, OET minimum C Grade, Duolingo 95-100, CEFR/Oxford minimum B2, CELPIP General score of 6, LANGUAGECERT Academic minimum 60, or Michigan English Test minimum 49. If a student does not have current proof of an accepted test, they will be required to take an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute.
After successfully completing the Diploma of Business, students will be able to work in the following job roles: Executive Officer, Administration Manager, Office Supervisor, Business Administrator, Project Coordinator, and Human Resources Manager.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Business will lay a foundation for successful students to progress into BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. Note that study pathways may include qualifications or courses that may not be offered at Skills Australia Institute.
