The Diploma of Business (BSB50120) has a total course duration of 52 weeks (including holiday breaks), with a volume of learning of 1,210 hours. Training is conducted on a full-time basis with a minimum of 20 hours per week in a classroom with a simulated work environment.
The total course fee for the Diploma of Business is $30,500, which comprises a tuition fee of $25,000 AUD and a non-tuition fee of $5,500 AUD.
International students require a minimum IELTS (General) score of 6.0 for direct entry. Alternatively, an IELTS score of 5.5 combined with at least 10 weeks of ELICOS, or an IELTS score of 5.0 combined with at least 20 weeks of ELICOS, is also accepted. Other accepted tests include Oxford Placement Test (61 or higher), PTE Academic (50 direct entry), Cambridge English Advanced (169 direct entry), and TOEFL iBT (67 direct entry for tests taken after 26 July 2023 and after 4 May 2024). Test results older than two years are not acceptable.
Successful completion of the BSB50120 Diploma of Business may enable the student to apply for the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business. In terms of employment, the qualification reflects the knowledge and skills of individuals in roles such as Business Manager, Chief Data Officer, Business Development Manager, Business Services Manager, and Organisational Development Advisor, though no job guarantee is implied.
Students must complete 12 units of competency in total: 5 core units (BSBCRT511 Develop critical thinking in others, BSBFIN501 Manage budgets and financial plans, BSBOPS501 Manage business resources, BSBSUS511 Develop workplace policies and procedures for sustainability, and BSBXCM501 Lead communication in the workplace) plus 7 elective units (BSBLDR523, BSBOPS502, BSBPMG430, BSBTWK502, BSBTWK503, BSBWHS521, and BSBCMM511).
